Never Too Late
The past handful of years have taken me down some unexpected roads, but looking back now, I’m amazed, proud, and excited at where they’ve taken me. Just over a year ago I started making a more conscientious effort to pursue writing and photography as creative outlets. These modes of expression always attracted me, and I had scratched the surface with them, but never gave them my all. I was hesitant, in part out of insecurity that I was any good, and in part because life’s other responsibilities always took precedence. Creative outlets seemed to be a luxury I couldn’t afford to make time for. This past year I made them a priority, and could not have anticipated how fulfilling and rewarding it would be.
Since I got a “professional” camera and started more actively pursuing opportunities to cover things last year, I got my first article published on Miami New Times, had my concert photos used for the Miami Beach Bandshell’s newsletters, and was able to document and share countless occasions with old friends and make new ones along the way.
I appreciate those of you who will continue to follow my story in these next weeks, months, and hopefully years.
