Originally hired by Zoo Miami to create a mural for the internal koala care room in the Australia building, we contributed to the creative direction and selected artist Rei Ramirez for the project. We handled logistics, oversaw deadlines, and documented the work. Impressed with our work, Zoo Miami brought us back to revamp three front-facing rooms in the same building. This involved removing old vinyl wallpapers and coordinating murals on all four walls of each room. Given the need to move animals and use nontoxic paints, precise scheduling and mindful execution were essential.
Our partnership with Zoo Miami extended to other projects, including a collaborative painting between an Indian elephant and a local artist, which was donated to charity, and involving the zoo in an activation at HistoryMiami’s annual Culturefest 305 event.
