Somewhere in the Middle
Neither of us is right, and it’s probably somewhere closer to the middle. That’s the tricky thing about perspective, it can feel absolute when you’re in it, but zoom out far enough and you start to see the edges blur.
I try to be gracious with myself when I catch that gap between my version of events and someone else’s. The truth is, we’re all just trying to navigate a life that’s trying to kill us, with no guidebook or roadmap. Some of us grew up thinking our compass was broken, others didn’t even know we had one.
So I remind myself: you can be wrong without being a bad person. You can be hurt without making someone else the villain. You can hold space for your truth without denying theirs.
Life isn’t about winning the argument. It’s about finding a way to keep going, even if you’re still figuring out where you’re heading.
