Vague Offers Kill Opportunities
How many times have you heard (or said), “Let me know if you ever need anything”?
It’s well-meaning, but it puts the burden on the other person to figure out how and when to follow up. Most people won’t. Not because they don’t want help, but because they’re too busy, distracted, or unsure of how to ask.
If you want to support someone, or build real relationships, offer something specific.
“I have a space if you ever need to shoot.”
“I can introduce you to a client who might be a fit.”
“I’d be down to collab on something short-term if it helps.”
The more you tailor your outreach to someone’s actual goals or struggles, the more likely they are to respond and remember you. It’s not about being transactional. It’s about showing up with intention instead of generic goodwill.
